Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) has had a busy couple of months.
In April the junior senator from Kentucky introduced that he was formally operating for president. In Could he launched his new e book, Taking a Stand, which argues that solely a “new sort of Republican” can win a normal election towards Hillary Clinton, partially by embracing such cross-partisan points as privateness, as he did most famously in a March 2013 filibuster about drone coverage.
And because the clock struck right down to June, Paul fulfilled a marketing campaign vow – and pissed off plenty of Republicans, together with Senate Majority Chief Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and far of the 2016 presidential subject – by blocking reauthorization of the Patriot Act.
