Our Exec Director Sam Paredes appeared earlier than the Public Security Committee on 4/2/24 to oppose SB1253 (Gonzalez); it prohibits an individual from possessing a firearm except they’d a legitimate, unexpired firearm security certificates that should be renewed each 5 years. GOC opposes this invoice as a result of it won’t clear up the various points that include the legal misuse of a firearm; slightly, it places the burden on conscientious people who shouldn’t have to show they’re accountable.
