A Tacoma councilmember needs to place a tax on weapons and ammunition within the metropolis.
Councilmember Ryan Mello introduced the plan Thursday, saying he is fed up with gun violence.
“Within the final 30 days we have had three gun-related homicides within the metropolis of Tacoma alone,” Mello stated.
He says that’s the reason he is trying to make a change.
“I feel in Tacoma we’re bored with simply ideas and prayers, that is simply not reducing it. We gotta do one thing.”
